1999-present   Co-founder and general manager of Universal Grid, a company in research of new innovations (formerly: an internet services company)

1998-present   Student Assistant of prof.ir. L.A.G. Wagemans, chair of Structural Engineering, faculty of Civil Engineering, Delft University of Technology

Main activities and responsibilities:
* Recent project: Guidance of three students' BSc graduation project on "Adaptive Structures" (8 weeks of research, combined with building), together with organization of a final presentation with Theo Jansen as a speaker. He is a dutch artist who developed animals from plastic piping for 20 years, which are adaptive structures in a way.
* Main stimulator of the 'Structural Design Lab', an initiative to create a framework for education, research and extracurriculair activities on "special structures" amd a base for colaboration between graduating students in this field.
* Development of educational methods in Structural Engineering courses
* Teaching of structural design and engineering to 3rd year students
* Network and computer system administration of the group of Structural Engineering
 
2004   Organizing participant and speaker in the first Structural Design Lab colloquium open to the public. Held on the TU Delft, faculty of Civil Engineering.
Presentation of gradutation work on "openStrategy Form Finding, a new concept for structural form finding and structural optimization".
 
2003   Participant in the "Masterclass Staal 2003" on invitation of the TU Delft and the Berlage Institute.
Group of Oliver Lang, LWPAC Architects, Canada.
Performing a short conceptual study on "What if?" scenerios on the possibilities of optimization, resulting in a publication in a book by the Berlage Institute.

2003   Participating organizer of a field-trip to Stuttgart, Germany for the Structural Design Lab: Visiting Schlaich-Bergermann Partner, Sobek Ingenieure, the Institute fur Leichttragwerke (ILEK) and several structures, such as the Multihalle Mannheim
 
2003   Initiator and participating organizer of a lunch discussion seminar, called "Blop or Flop, the sense and non-sense of free-form architecture" for the Structural Design Lab

Designing a tunnel under the Rio Mapocho for the Chilean ministery of public works (ministerio de obras publicas)

Advising the dean of the faculty on educational matters.
 
September 1999 - September 2000   Member of the senate of the main students organization of the faculty of Civil Engineering, Het Gezelschap "Practische Studie", an organization with 1200 student members. The council consists of 6 people (currently 7), each with a field of expertise.
